- PhD Candidate in Archaeology, Durham University
I have a BA in Anthropology and History from Whitman College and an MA in Social Archaeology from the University of Southampton. I am in the final year of my PhD in Archaeology at Durham University, studying the impact of the Roman frontier on Romanian nationalism and identity. I have excavated in Romania since 2011, and currently manage a field school on a Roman fort in the Danube Delta.
I am particularly interested in long term border and frontier landscapes, how archaeology influences the present political and social climate, and the impact of that climate reflects back to how we understand the past.
