Emanuele Castelli

Emanuele Castelli is Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Parma., where he teaches Political Science and International Politics. He previously was Assistant Professor at the University of Parma (2016-2021), Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Bruno Kessler Foundation of Trento (2012-2016), Adjunct Professor of Public Policy at the Free University of Bolzano/Bozen (2013-2016) and Instructor at the School of International Studies of the University of Trento (2015-2016). From 2007 to 2011 he was Research Fellow in International Relations at the University of Bologna (Forlì campus), where we taught Strategic Studies and International Politics, and Visiting Scholar at the University of California at Irvine (2008). Since 2012 he is in charge of managing the activities of the Italian Standing Group on International Relations (SGRI), and its annual Conference held in Trento. His main research interests lie at the intersection between Peace Research and International Relation Theory, with a specific focus on the effects of economic modernization on states' domestic and international behavior.

Tradeoffs in Military Effectiveness (Cambridge University Press 2017).

He received an BA in Political Science (2000), an MA in International Relations from the University of Bologna (2002) and a PhD in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Parma (2005).
