• Research Fellow, ARC Centre of Excellence for 21st Century Weather, Monash University

Ellie is a Research Fellow at Monash University, as part of the ARC Centre of Excellence for 21st Century Weather. She also holds an adjunct position at the University of New South Wales. Ellie completed her PhD in climate science and physical oceanography at the University of New South Wales/ARC Centre for Excellence in Antarctic Science, where her research focused on the dynamics of the Antarctic Slope Current. She previously earned an Integrated Master of Physics degree from the University of Oxford, UK, and has also conducted research at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, USA. To date, her research has centered on Southern Ocean circulation and geophysical fluid dynamics. In her current role at the 21st Century Weather Centre, she uses climate models to improve our understanding of the tropical Pacific Ocean and its impacts on Australian weather and climate.
