Elizabeth Franklin

I am interested in both behaviour and ecology with a specific interest in social insects. I am currently involved research on pollinator and carnivorous plant interactions, Urban pollinators and heathland management for pollinators. I am also interested in behavior, I am particularly interested in how the actions of individuals influence the colony as a whole and in addition the presence of behavioural syndromes at the individual and colony level.

Research projects include:
Impact of the invasive pitcher plant Sarracinia purpurea on native invertebrates
Bumblebee and honeybee use of heathlands
Pollinators and People project
Urban pollinators- informing pollinator planting strips
The value of individual heterogenity for colony flexibility
