Elizabeth Boardman

Elizabeth Boardman has spent over 15 years working directly with women and children who have experienced gender-based violence in Southeast Queensland and in the United Kingdom. She has worked with QCDFVR since 2019 in a variety of roles, including facilitating two communities of practice in Queensland, assisting with research and evaluation projects, as well as developing and delivering online and in person training packages.

Elizabeth Boardman has recently transitioned into the Associate Lecturer position in the Domestic and Family Violence Prevention teaching team at CQ University. Elizabeth is currently enrolled in a master’s course at CQUniversity where she is researching communities of practice as a protective factor against vicarious trauma for specialist DFV practitioners. Elizabeth is passionate about trauma-informed practice and has a special interest in how childhood trauma interferes with secure attachment. Elizabeth’s years working as a domestic violence advocate has equipped her with a thorough and practical knowledge of the challenges women, children and families face in dealing with DFV.
