- PhD Candidate in Humanities, Concordia University; Honorary Fellow, UWA Faculty of Law, The University of Western Australia
Elisabeth Roy Trudel's research project combines insights and methods from three disciplines, namely socio-legal studies, anthropology and art history. She is particularly interested in human rights, the intersection of law and culture and of aesthetics and law, Indigenous peoples and the law, and legal theory. Throughout her work Elisabeth seeks to articulate a vision in which law's connection to humanist disciplines is critical to its justice and its social relevance. Elisabeth holds a B.A. in political science and environment from McGill University, a Graduate Diploma in Journalism from Concordia University and an LL.M. in international law from the Université du Québec à Montréal. She also worked for international organizations such at the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the UN mission in Côte d’Ivoire.
