Elena Semino

My research interests are in stylistics, metaphor theory and analysis, and the medical humanities/health communication. I often combine qualitative analysis with corpus linguistic methods. I am currently working on communication about cancer, chronic pain, mental illness, COVID-19 and vaccinations, with a particular focus on metaphors and narratives. My research is mainly funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).
