Elena Cama is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Social Research in Health at UNSW Sydney. She is a mixed-methods researcher with a background in criminology and public health. Her research has focused on experiences, impacts, and responses to marginalisation, discrimination, and violence. This work has included research on sexual harms experienced in a range of contexts, including those facilitated via dating and hook-up apps, in the context of using taxi and rideshare services, in the night-time economy, and in higher education settings. It has also included a focus on stigma and discrimination targeted at people affected by blood-borne viruses and sexually transmissible infections.
