Dr. Elan Satriawan is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), and from 2015-2024, served as the Chief of the Policy Working Group at The National Team for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction (TNP2K) under the Office of the Vice President of Indonesia. For nearly two decades, he has been deeply engaged in poverty alleviation and social protection, both through rigorous academic research and high-level policy advisory roles. His work spans impact evaluation, microeconomic development, and the effectiveness of anti-poverty programs, including randomized controlled trials and large-scale policy assessments. He has collaborated with institutions such as JPAL-MIT, the World Bank, and ADB, and has contributed to shaping Indonesia’s social protection strategies. Dr. Satriawan earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Michigan State University and a Master’s in Development Economics from the Australian National University.
