Dr Elaine Chiao Ling Yang is a senior tourism lecturer at Griffith University, Australia and a visiting research fellow at Wakayama University, Japan. Elaine’s research investigated various issues pertinent to women in tourism as workers, entrepreneurs and travellers. She has also undertaken research on the social impact of tourism, visitor experience design and Asian tourism. Elaine recently delivered a digital entrepreneurship research and training project funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade to empower female tourism entrepreneurs in Latin America. Elaine has been identified as an Emerging Tourism Scholar by e-Review of Tourism Research and she won the Early Researcher Award from the Critical Tourism Studies Asia-Pacific Network in 2020.
