Edward Yiu

Edward Yiu has been the Disciplinary Area Lead for Property at the University of Auckland Business School since 2024. He is an elected Senate member representing lecturers of the Faculty of Business and Economics from Feb 2024 to Jan 2027. He obtained the Mid-Career Researcher's Excellence in Research Award 2024 of the University of Auckland Business School. His research focus is on Property Economics, Housing Studies, and Urban Studies. He has developed the Spatial Portfolio Theory and the Retail Tenant Mix Model. By profession, He is a Chartered Surveyor (a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors), and was the elected candidate representing the Architectural, Surveying, Planning and Landscape Functional Constituency in the Hong Kong Legislative Council in 2016. Before joining the Legislative Council.
