Dr. Shivangi Sharma

Dr Shivangi Sharma is a Senior Research Fellow at the Birmingham Energy Institute and a Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST) Fellow, working at the intersection of energy, industry and public policy. Her expertise spans industrial decarbonisation, energy efficiency, thermal energy storage, waste heat recovery and the transition to net zero.

With over 15 years of experience across academia, industry and policy, Dr. Sharma has led and contributed to more than £1.5 million of research and innovation projects, working with over 50 SMEs to turn energy research into practical solutions. She has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed papers and technical publications and has presented her work at international forums including COP27, COP28, the G20 and R&D20.

A recipient of an IChemE Global Award, she is passionate about making clean energy and industrial decarbonisation work not just in theory, but in the real world.
