Dr Felipe Romero-Moreno

Dr. Felipe Romero-Moreno is a leading expert in IT/IP law and human rights. He is an Associate Professor in Research and the Research Lead for Law at the Hertfordshire School of Law, Education and Society, and an Executive Committee member of the British and Irish Law Education and Technology Association (BILETA).

His research focuses on the intersection of new and emerging technologies such as generative and agentic AI with privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, intellectual property, freedom of expression and due process. He is also currently exploring the exciting potential of how generative AI tools can transform learning, teaching and assessment within University classrooms.

Dr. Romero-Moreno is a highly accomplished scholar with a PhD, an LLM by Research in IT/IP, and an LLM in International Trade and Commercial Law from Oxford Brookes University. He is also a law graduate of Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

Dr. Romero-Moreno is passionate about using his expertise to make a positive impact on the world. He is a sought-after speaker and consultant, and his work has been featured in leading academic journals and media outlets. His consultancy work has influenced policy at the highest levels of government in the UK and EU, including the UK House of Lords, the UK Government, and the EU Commission.
