I am a sociologist of religion with an interest in global religious trends, new patterns of religious practice, and innovative organizational responses to cultural change. I am the author/editor of nine books and series editor of "Global Pentecostalism and Charismatic Christianity," Oxford University Press, 2011. As executive director of the USC Center for Religion and Civic Culture, I have overseen $40 million of grants for research and capacity-building programming. In addition, I have done extensive research on genocide, including oral history projects on the Armenian and Rwandan genocides.
