Dominique Falla

(she/her)

Dr Dominique Falla is an Associate Professor at the Queensland College of Art and Design (QCAD), Griffith University. Her teaching and research focus on creative entrepreneurship, digital content creation, employability and the future of work—equipping creatives with the skills needed to thrive in the modern digital economy. Dominique is also a member of the Griffith Learning and Teaching Academy.

In 2013, Dominique founded Typism, a type and lettering conference, curated book series, and online community for creative entrepreneurs.

She has a keen interest in popular culture and the lessons we can learn from global digital communities. She explores how these insights can inform creative entrepreneurship and community building, which aligns with her work on Typism and her research into the global success of K-pop and other innovative content-creation ecosystems.

Dominique holds a Bachelor of Design from Swinburne University, a Master of Design from Monash University, and a Doctorate of Visual Arts (DVA) from Griffith University. Her doctoral research on Tactile Typography established her as a creative practitioner of international standing.
