Divya Jyoti is a Lecturer in the Department of Organisation, Work and Technology at Lancaster University. She is interested in the phenomenon of human vulnerability and how it shapes and is in turn shaped by individuals, organizations and societies. Her work includes reflections on death and grief, precarious and insecure work, ‘ethical’ workplaces and supply chains, and 'left-behind' places. Drawing on her life before entering academia, the fashion industry continues to serve as an empirical context for several of her examinations. Divya's research is informed by investigations of place, ethnography and autoethnography. Alongside her research, she continues to be actively involved in activist and reform-orientated organisations.
