Dr Deborah M. Netolicky has more than 25 years’ experience in teaching and school leadership in Australia and the UK. She is an Australian school principal committed to building positive school cultures of trust, inclusivity, and excellence, through collective action that is strategically aligned and based in context, research, and innovation.
Deborah is Principal of Walford Anglican School for Girls, Adjunct Senior Fellow at the University of Adelaide and sits on the Editorial Board of the 'Journal of Professional Capital and Community'. Her research interests include school leadership, professional learning, professional identity, pracademia and leading change in education contexts. Deborah's books include 'Transformational Professional Learning: Making a Difference in Schools' (2020), 'Flip the System Australia' (2019), and 'Future Alternatives for Educational Leadership' (2021). She shares education research and practice insights on her blog theeduflaneuse.com and hosts The Edu Salon podcast.
Deborah's recent awards include the 2024 Australian Education Awards Excellence Awardee for ‘Principal of the Year – Non-Government’, the 2024 ACEL SA Media Award, and the 2023 ACEL Hedley Beare Award for Educational Writing.
