David Oxborough is Professor of Echocardiography and Cardiovascular Physiology at Liverpool John Moores University. He is also an echocardiographer with over 30 years of experience in primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare settings. He has been awarded a fellowship from the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE). As an academic and researcher, Prof Oxborough has published over 185 peer reviewed papers on quantitative echocardiography and its application in Clinical and Exercise Cardiology. He has continuously worked in the imaging-based assessment of sudden cardiac death syndromes and pre-participation screening environment and has screened thousands of athletes contributing significantly to our understanding of the Athlete’s Heart and its differentiation from cardiomyopathy. Prof Oxborough is also an Associate Editor for EHJ Case Reports.
