David Nolan (he/him) is Associate Professor in Journalism, Media and Communication at the University of Canberra, and a member of the News and Media Research Centre. Prior to this, he was the Deputy Director of the Centre for Advancing Journalism at the University of Melbourne. He is an executive member of the Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand Communication Association (ANZCA), and is currently a Chief Investigator on an ARC Discovery Project, 'What does ‘doing diversity’ do, and how can it be done differently? Learning from experiences of diverse workers in Australian news media'. His research focuses on understanding change in journalism, the role of media in the politics of belonging, and transformations in humanitarian communication.
