David Nemer

David Nemer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Media Studies and an Affiliate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Virginia. He is also a Research Associate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society (BKC) at Harvard University. Nemer is the author of the books Technology of the Oppressed (MIT Press, 2022), winner of the 2024 Sally Hacker Prize and the 2022 Marcel Roche Prize, and Favela Digital: The Other Side of Technology (GSA Publishing, 2013).
