I am an Associate Professor in Politics at the University of Birmingham. My research and teaching focuses on protest and dissent, and how this relates to developments in capitalism. My research focuses on comparative and critical political economy, especially on how capitalism interacts with protest, dissent, social movements, collective action, and other forms of left-leaning agency, including left parties; and how these trends have an impact upon political institutions and trends more generally.
