David Ferguson does research on a variety of volcanic and magmatic topics both on-land and in the oceans. Study areas include Ethiopia, Hawaii, Chile, and the NE Pacific.

Particularly interested in the interactions between volcanism and other large-scale processes such as tectonics and climate.
