Darren is an Associate Professor of Immunology at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences. He is Programme Leader of LJMU’s MSc degree in Biomedical Sciences, and has experience in numerous areas of immunology and biotechnology research including immune recognition, antimicrobial peptides and drug delivery. Darren has co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed papers, his work appearing in ‘Infection and Immunity’, ‘Nature Biotechnology’, ‘PLOS One’ and other journals. He serves on the editorial boards of the ‘Journal of Cell Death’ and ‘Recent Patents on Inflammation & Allergy Drug Discovery’.
