- Lecturer in Neuroscience, University of Lancashire
Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire and assistant professor with the American University of the Caribbean. I currently lead modules for the International Medical Sciences Programme. The programme prepares students to take the USLME medical examinations to qualify as physicians in the United States.
I previously served as a postdoctoral researcher and teaching fellow at the University of Freiburg Institute of Anatomy and Cell Biology; my research centred on the molecular underpinnings of neurodevelopmental disorders. I taught Human Anatomy and Epigenetics for the Human Medicine and Biology programmes, I acted as teaching director for the Molecular Embryology department, and I designed and delivered interdisciplinary courses for the University College Freiburg's degree programme in Liberal Arts and Sciences.
I completed my doctorate in biology at the University of Freiburg, Germany, studying the genetic and epigenetic dynamics underlying the development of glioblastoma, a highly aggressive form of brain cancer. I studied for my master's degree in neuroscience at the University of Strasbourg, France and my bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.
