Daniela Soto-Hernandez

Daniela Soto Hernández is a social anthropologist and PhD in International Development. She has worked as a consultant and researcher for over 12 years with focus on gender, labour, mining and diverse topics around Indigenous communities. Her doctoral thesis looked at lithium extraction in Chile in the context of the energy transition and she is the author of Lithium Extraction in Chile and of articles in journals such as Feminist Economics, Geoforum, Extractive Industries and Society, Human Geography, Global Environmental Politics, and the Journal of Peasant Studies. Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Sussex, working on the SUS-POL project and leading the research in Latin America, where she has carried out research in Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador and Chile.
