I am a historian with a specialization in the international and global history of Canada, the anti-apartheid movement, and emotions. I completed my PhD in History at the University of Western Ontario in 2021. From 2022-2024, I was a William Lyon Mackenzie King Postdoctoral Fellow in the Canada Program at Harvard University's Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, and I am currently a SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of History at the University of Toronto.

My recent academic publications on the global response to apartheid in South Africa have been published in several leading peer-reviewed journals, including Diplomatic History, the Canadian Historical Review, the American Review of Canadian Studies, International Journal, and the Journal of Imperial and Commonwealth History, the latter of which won the Canadian Historical Association's Best Article in Political History Prize (English Language) in 2022. My book manuscript, titled A Light in the Window: Canada, Apartheid, and the Defence of the Liberal Order, is under contract with an academic press. My public-facing work has appeared in the Globe and Mail, The Conversation, and Epicenter.
