Daniel E. Martinez is a Distinguished Scholar and Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Arizona (UA). He also serves as a co-director of the UA's Binational Migration Institute. His research focuses on undocumented migration, border enforcement, migrant deaths, and the criminalization of immigration. Martinez has co-authored more than sixty peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, academic essays, and policy reports on these topics.
