- Senior Lecturer in Social and Cultural Artificial Intelligence, King's College London
I am a computational social scientist with a strong background in more conventional research methods. I have a particular interest in problems of hatred, inequality, and exclusion, as well as in the ever-evolving relationships between culture, politics, and technology. I believe in addressing research questions using every available tool, from ethnography and surveys to statistical text processing and social network analysis.
I have been based at King's College London since 2018. I began my academic career as a research associate at the Open University in 2007, becoming Lecturer in Applied Linguistics at the same institution the following year. In 2015, I was made Associate Professor of Digital Cultures at UWE Bristol, and in 2016, I was appointed Lecturer in Digital Media at the University of Leicester. I am an associate editor of Journal of Contemporary Antisemitism and a section editor of Open Information Science.
