I am the author of To Make the Wounded Whole: The African American Struggle against HIV/AIDS (UNC Press, 2020), which was a finalist for the Museum of African American History Stone Book Award. I am currently working (in collaboration with Dr. Julio Capó and Theresa Pinto) on A People's Guide to Greater Miami for the University of California Press. I taught at Florida International University in Miami for nine years, and have taught at Binghamton University since 2024.
