Dan Mennill

Dan Mennill is a Professor of Ornithology at University of Windsor, with a research focus on acoustic communication in temperate and tropical animals. He runs the Mennill Sound Analysis Laboratory, where he and his research team use a field-based approach to study animals around the globe. Dan has helped to pioneer new technologies for bioacoustic field studies of birds, including multi-channel array recording, interactive playback, multi-speaker playback, and nocturnal flight call recording. Dan has has published more than 190 papers in scientific journals, and supervised more than 50 graduate students. He is a Fellow of the American Ornithological Society and the Associate Dean of Science at University of Windsor. He lives with his family in Lasalle, Ontario.
