New research finds Australian industries are becoming concentrated with greater power to charge high prices. Unlike US firms, Australian firms are not required to report merger plans to authorities.
Our concerning finding is “non-compete clauses” are even more widespread in Australia than in the United States. And it’s not only among CEOs: even childcarers and yoga instructors are affected.
We have fewer workers changing jobs and fewer new firms than we used to.
