​I possess a comprehensive background in health economics, uniquely specializing in Brain Health Economics. With a strong foundation in Disease Modelling, Econometrics, Health Technology Assessment, and Public Health Policy, I am well-equipped to tackle the pressing challenges facing global health systems, particularly in the context of brain health. As the Lead Brain Health Economist at the Brain and Mind Institute, Kenya, I harness my expertise to drive impactful research and policy initiatives.

In my role as an Assistant Professor of Global Health Economics at Aga Khan University in Kenya & Pakistan, I am dedicated to shaping future leaders in health economics while actively contributing to the body of knowledge in this critical field. My work as an Atlantic Fellow for Equity in Brain Health at Trinity College Dublin, University of Dublin, Ireland, further underscores my commitment to addressing health disparities in brain health globally. My work as a Global Fellow at the University of California, San Fransisco, USA, is focusing on disease modeling, looking at Global Dementia Evolution. I also advise the Chair for Brain Economics in Africa under the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association in Spain. I also advice the Ministry of Health in Kenya focusing on Mental Health and Tobacco Economics.

With over 60 peer-reviewed journal publications, my research focuses on the intricate economics of brain health and its implications for developing countries. As a principal investigator on numerous university-funded grants, I have established effective economic measures aimed at preventing brain ill health in resource-limited settings. My successful administration of impactful projects, such as the Future of Health Systems in Africa under the World Bank, has fostered collaborations with esteemed researchers and led to the publication of influential strategies for building resilient African health systems.

My research work appears in world-class journals, including BMJ Global Health, Economics & Human Biology, The Lancet eBioMedicine, Health Affairs, Alzheimer's & Dementia, Bulletin of the World Health Organization, and Nature Medicine, demonstrating my significant contribution to advancing knowledge in the field. Furthermore, being recognized among the top 1% of influential global economists in developing countries by the Sigma Scientific Research Honorary Society, based in the USA, emphasizes my impact and leadership in health economics.
