Cristina Gómez Almaraz

Cristina Gómez has extensive experience in geospatial technologies for assessing environmental and ecological change across forest, agricultural, and coastal systems. She specializes in the analysis of remotely sensed time series from both optical and SAR sensors to characterize forest ecosystem dynamics, including disturbance regimes and natural succession processes. Her work also includes substantial contributions to the study of species dynamics, and she has collaborated widely within international and multidisciplinary teams. She is currently a Professor at the University of Valladolid (Spain) and holds an honorary research position at the University of Aberdeen (UK).
