Corinne is currently employed within the Centre for Social Responsibility in Mining at The University of Queensland having completed her social science PhD in 2021, and postdoctoral role within the UQ Business School. Her study of insidious risk management explains how slow growing inconspicuous risks form to become catastrophic. Her PhD builds upon a career in earth sciences where Corinne worked in industry, government and consulting on mine rehabilitation, closure and post-closure. A Churchill Fellow, Corinne researched leading practice abandoned mine rehabilitation and post-mining land use in UK, Europe and Canada. Following this she conducted abandoned mine research within the UQ's Centre for Mined Land Rehabilitation (now CERM). Corinne led ISO 24419 a standard on Managing Mining Legacies and is now involved in new standards on social aspects of Sustainable Mining and Mine Closure and Finding Value in Mining Wastes.
