My research revolves around systems optics design – that is, the ground up development of optical imaging systems, starting from ideation, to design and simulation, fabrication and assembly, and image processing algorithms. Within this area, I have a special focus on developing these optical systems towards intelligent biomedical devices such as sensors, wearables, and surgical equipment. I also use systems optics design to investigate novel optics concepts including smart material and micro-scale imagers.
