Cooper Malanoski

I am a palaeobiologist, funded by a Clarendon Fellowship, with a research focus on how climate influences evolutionary dynamics and biogeographic distributions through the past 540 million years: the Phanerozoic aeon.

My work seeks to better understand the complex interplay between biotic and abiotic factors, like geographic distribution and climatic variations, in driving extinction on macroevolutionary timescale. A significant aspect of my research involves using brachiopods as model organisms to investigate extinction and biogeographic patterns at a finer temporal and taxonomic scale.
