Conor Heffernan

I am a Lecturer in the Sociology of Sport at Ulster University. My research focuses on the rise of health and body cultures in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century with reference to gymnasiums, physical education and military training. More recently I have begun to examine the changing nature of athletic diets in the twentieth-century.
