Clemence is a Teaching Associate in the School of Social Sciences, Cardiff University, United Kingdom. His research focuses on:
1. Land and agrarian questions in Southern Africa and the global south.
2. The nexus between drugs and development.

Hi current research investigates the agrarian implications of the cannabis policy reforms in the global south, which legalises the use of cannabis for medicinal and industrial purposes. He is interested in questions of inclusivity and the impacts the new policies have on the economy in general.
