Clare Davidson is a cultural and legal historian of late medieval and early modern Europe and the British Empire. Her first monograph engages with the emotional logic of fourteenth-century English laws and literary texts to revise the historical significance of romantic love, desire, and sexuality. It will be published by Manchester University Press. Her current work focuses on literary and legal culture in the late Middle Ages, the historical development of institutions, and the Australian reception of medieval and early modern English laws.
