- Lecturer in Sociology and Criminology, Nottingham Trent University
I am a lecturer in Sociology and Criminology at Nottingham Trent University. My first degree is in Criminology and I have an MA in Globalising Justice. My PhD, in Social Policy, explored multiple representations and experiences surrounding the village pub. Following my PhD, I worked on a number of research projects focusing on community well-being. Findings from my PhD have been published in book chapters. My main research interests focus on rural pubs, rural services, and the sustainability of rural communities. In 2017, I became one of the co-ordinators for the Drinking Places research cluster, and co-convenors for the British Sociological Association (BSA) Alcohol studies group.
