Claire Kumar

Claire is a Senior Research Fellow for ODI Europe. She coordinates ODI Europe’s research portfolio and contributes to public affairs work in key areas such as: public attitudes and political narratives in relation to migration and legal pathways for labour immigration. Claire has led the development of ODI’s extensive research portfolio on public attitudes and narratives around refugees and other migrants across 12 European countries and coordinates ODI Europe’s policy work around migration and asylum in Europe. She has previously conducted research looking at migration and the adult social care sector and is expanding ODI Europe’s legal pathways work to look at how migrant workers could contribute to the green transition in Europe. Currently her legal pathways work looks at how European immigration policies are serving the construction sector in light of chronic labour shortages and ambitious building renovation targets.
