Christopher Shoop-Worrall

Christopher is a Senior Lecturer in Media and Communication at UCFB Manchester, Senior Fellow of the HEA, and Member of the Royal Historical Society. He completed his PhD at the University of Sheffield's Department of Journalism Studies, having previously studied for his BA (First Class) in History at the University of Liverpool, before completing his MA in Historical Research, also at Sheffield.

Christopher’s broader research intersects 19th and 20th century histories of newspapers, popular culture and politics and the ways the overtly 'political' manifests within mass-consumer media and culture as a whole. His work also draws on the various fields in which he has lectured and advised, such as research methods, journalism, media studies (particularly digital media) and political communication.
