Dr Baker received his PhD from the Centre for International Security Studies at the University of Sydney. He was a member and lead editor of the Food Security in Asia project sponsored by the MacArthur Foundation. He has a strong interest in Food Security, Water Security and the links between climate change and security.
Chris lectures and teaches in Security Studies, International Relations, Globalisation, Australian Politics and Political Theory.
In 2011 he was awarded a prestigious fellowship by the Centre for Non-Traditional Security Studies, based at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. As part of this fellowship he traveled extensively throughout Asia researching food and water security issues.
Chris also has a strong research interest in Asian Security Studies - particularly the South China Sea - and has lived and taught in Shanghai, PRC.
