Dr Christopher Doropoulos is a Senior Research Scientist with CSIRO Environment’s Sustainable Marine Futures Program in Brisbane. He studies how coral reefs recover after disturbance, focusing on the ecological and environmental processes that drive their regeneration. With more than 15 years’ experience across tropical and temperate marine ecosystems, Christopher leads the development of scalable, science-based restoration strategies. His work brings together ecologists, oceanographers, engineers, and communities to design practical solutions for reef recovery. He leads major initiatives such as EcoRRAP, RRAP Moving Corals, and RECRUIT in Australia, and contributes internationally to coral restoration programs in the Maldives and beyond.
