Christine J. Kirchhoff’s research focuses on water governance, planning, and management under stress and change, including transitions and transformation. Her work examines the human dimensions of engineering, particularly climate adaptation and resilience in water and wastewater infrastructure and systems, and the production and use of science in policy and decision-making. An associate professor and associate director in Law, Policy and Engineering and an associate professor of civil and environmental engineering, she is recognized for work on infrastructure resilience, climate adaptation, transdisciplinary research, science-policy interactions, and the governance and management of water and climate.
