Christine Hawkins is an Early Career Researcher and an Associate Teacher, working on a range of English Literature modules covering Victorian fictions, the long nineteenth-century, the eighteenth-century, Jane Austen studies, and walking cultures – particularly concerning the experiences of working-class people.
She completed her PhD on Victorian crime fiction featuring female detectives and real-life female detectives in 2020 and currently continues to teach on crime fiction.
Other areas of interest include the supernatural, the fin de siècle, and Victorian women writers. She is currently working on a novel.
