Christine Feldman-Barrett

I am a sociologist and historian who focuses on the intersections of popular music, youth culture, and gender. My first book, 'We Are the Mods': A Transnational History of a Youth Subculture (Peter Lang, 2009), examines the Mod Subculture in its native Britain alongside its presence in Germany, the United States, and Japan from the early 1960s to the early 2000s. My most recent book, A Women's History of the Beatles (Bloomsbury, 2021) is the first full-length publication to focus on women within Beatles history.
