As a monster theorist, young people's texts and media, and video game scholar, Dr. Fawcett works in affect, embodiment, engagement, trauma and monstrosity in contemporary media. Her SSHRC-funded research with Dr. Andrea Braithwaite on Contemporary Cozy Media examines the cultural significance of cozy fantasy and mystery.
She is a member of the Canadian Game Studies Association, CRiCS and CRYTC, and teaches in genre literature and media at the University of Winnipeg.
