A recent study found semaglutide – the drug known as Ozempic – can improve knee pain in people with obesity and osteoarthritis.
We researched how much difference opioids like codeine, oxycodone or morphine make to osteoarthritis pain. We found they helped about as much as paracetamol. Yet they are far more dangerous.
Opioids should only be considered in limited circumstances for low back pain.
