Chris Dawson is Professor of Economics and Behavioural Science in the School of Management at the University of Bath. His research focuses on empirical labour economics and behavioural economics and finance He specializes in how psychological traits impact economic decisions, with a particular focus on optimism, overconfidence, disappointment aversion, and entrepreneurship. His broader research portfolio explores genetics and gene-environment interactions, alongside gender pay differentials, incentives, childhood environments, and the work ethic of migrant workers.
